World Orienteering Championship

Sited within easy reach of extensive areas of forest, Aarhus has good access to Denmark’s most outstanding orienteering terrain. It also carries the mantle of Jutland’s capital city. The compact city centre with everything within easy reach provides for all possible requirements.

Aarhus is also well-known as a leading international conference centre and offers all the associated facilities, accommodation and restaurants.

Event Centre and Accommodation

Our aim is to create an Olympic-style village for the World Championships - the Event Centre together with plentiful national team accommodation in every price bracket within a compact area in the city.

Accommodation and food service

Accommodation for Federation Teams has been booked according to their requirements. Confirmation with all details will be sent together with the invoice by separate mail.

All who have booked the Catering Service lunch will
receive a lunch ticket on accreditation.
Both lunch packet and cooked meal will be served at the arena at all WOC qualification and final races.

WOC 2006 Event Centre

The official Event and Media Centre for WOC 2006 is the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel (for more information visit which is adjacent to the Town Hall, the concert hall, the new art museum ARoS, and the old and charming exhibition centre Ridehuset which will be turned into the main social venue for competitors, spectators and the public. The Aarhus airport bus service goes directly to the Event Centre.

All registered participants in WOC 2006 i.e. team members, IOF officials, media representatives and guests, are kindly requested to check in for accreditation at the WOC Event Centre in the Radisson SAS Scandinavia Hotel upon arrival. Each registered team member must present his/her personal passport before he/she will be accredited. A personal WOC 2006 ID card with photo and access rights code will be provided at accreditation.

All accredited persons must wear their WOC 2006 ID card at all relevant times. The WOC 2006 ID card must
be presented in order to get access to the allowed zones (colour code).
