WOC Tour |
There are numerous possibilities to go exploring in Aarhus and to visit its many tourist attractions, including Den Gamle By (rebuilt old town with many activities), Tivoli Friheden fun park, the art museum AroS, and Moesgård Museum which will be holding its annual Viking Festival over the first weekend of the Orienteering Festival. You can also simply relax in the cosy café sector beside the old Aarhus river.
We recommend that you buy an Aarhus Pass which is valid for one week and gives free access to many of the city’s attractions as well as free transport on the city buses. It also gives free parking in the official car parks beside the harbour, about 15 minutes’ walk from the Event Centre.
The Aarhus Pass can be booked with your entry so that it is available for you as soon as you arrive. Unfortunately we cannot give a discount for the Aarhus Pass.
Outside of Aarhus, the whole of the mid-Jutland area is well known for its beautiful countryside with its many attractive lakes surrounded by wooded hillsides, and picturesque villages and towns. There are countless opportunities for open-air activity, and we can recommend visits to, for example, the freshwater centre AQUA in Silkeborg, Legoland in Billund, Givskud Lion Park, Randers Rain Forest, The old frigate Jylland at Ebeltoft, and many more.
In collaboration with Aarhus Tourist Office and the other tourist offices in the region, we will do all we can to ensure that the tourism side of the Orienteering Festival is also memorable and caters for all ages and interests. You can start planning your spare-time activities by visiting the tourist attractions’ websites, for example through links from www.visitdenmark.dk and
www.visitaarhus.com.
