Entry for the WOC2006 Kick Start Camp will close on Tuesday June the 20th.
The international youth camp, which pre-start WOC2006, has now recieved entries from more than 70 participants from 7 different countries. If you still want to take part in the camp, but hasn't entered yet, you will have to send an entry form to: kickstartcamp@hotmail.com no later than Tuesday June the 20th.
What:
- Without doubt the year’s most fun-filled camp! An absolute must for all who think orienteering is cool
- Only for young orienteers, only for fun
- 2 action-packed days with lots of orienteering, fun, music, super sunshine, camp fires - and much more!
Who:
Young orienteers aged 15-20 (born 1986-91), from anywhere in the world
Why:
- Because it’s cool to be an orienteer
- Because it’s cool to be with friends and go orienteering
- Because it’s cool to try new fun ways to orienteer
- Because it’s cool to take part in crazy challenges where it’s all just for fun
- Because it’s cool to meet lots of other young orienteers
- Because it’s the World Championships in Denmark – and this is the coolest way to start a cool week!
- Because it’s absolutely closed to adults (including parents!)
- Because it certainly isn’t fun not to be there and just hear about it afterwards …
Where:
Ryekol, Gammel Rye, near Aarhus, Denmark. Accommodation in and around Ryekol scout hut, with orienteering on a real peach of an area: Ryekol.
When:
Friday 28th July, 18.00 until Sunday 30th July, 12 noon. We will take you from the camp direct to the first race in the WOC Tour.
FUN is the name of the game:
- Lots of fun orienteering: try our new, all-action, exciting ways to orienteer!
- Lots of fun challenges – like crazy football, milk drinking, welly boot throwing, water battles, spit casting, …
- Time to wind down: camp fires, dancing, group songs and more
Cost:
225 Danish kroner per person (~30 Euro)

Entry information for WOC 2006 Kick Start Camp.
- Entry will open on March 1st 2006 (first come, first served, there will be a maximum of 150-175 participants.)
- Fill in the entry form and e-mail it to: kickstartcamp@hotmail.com
- You will find the entry form on the website of the camp: www.woc2006.dk/tour/entrycamp.doc (Word-document)
- Please state on the entry form if the participants have the possibility of bringing their own tent for sleeping - and if this refers to all the listed participants. Otherwise the organisers will organise sleeping in a dormitory or big tent.
- You will receive confirmation of your entry by e-mail. If the camp is fully booked you will be informed, and be put on a waiting list.
- Payment should be made within 14 days from when you receive the confirmation.
- The cost is 225 Danish Kroner (DKK) per person.
- Payment must be made by bank transfer to: SPARNORD registration no. 9015 account no. 1465756639, IBAN no.: DK9890151465756639, BIC/SWIFT CODE: SPNODK22 PLEASE add “ycamp” and the name of the club and the name of participants to the payment information.
- By entry the participants commit themselves to following the rules and directions made by the organisers. It is forbidden to bring and consume alcohol during the camp.
- Participants will receive more detailed information about the camp no later than July 1st on their contact e-mail. All information will also be published on the website: www.woc2006.dk/tour/ycamp
Provisional programme:
Friday: welcome, orienteering run, games, camp fire
Saturday: 3 orienteering runs, games, dinner, prizegiving, music
Sunday: breakfast, clearing up, transport to WOC Tour
